I was always taught by my parents to always look on the bright side and to stay positive. As much as I hate to admit it, this can be super hard for me to do and this year I failed miserably at this.
COVID came in and threatened to destroy me and my family in every way it possibly could. And guess what? I allowed it to, for awhile anyway, but this Ginger had had enough and decided enough was enough!
I put on my big girl panties, stopped feeling sorry for myself and fought like I had never fought before!
I decided to start focusing on the things that I COULD DO and stopped dwelling on the things I had no control over. I chose to go after my goals. I chose to make the most of my time. I chose to count my blessings. I chose to do what I could to help others as so many people were in need and are still in need! Soooo many people were and are still hurting and if there is anything that has hit home to me more than ever this year is that we can’t do this life alone and that we need each other!
Choosing to see obstacles in your life as opportunities to grow, learn and get better will help you to stay positive and allow you to keep moving toward what you want in life. I am choosing to look back on this time and see COVID as exactly what I needed to see growth and the necessary change I needed in my life.
So what are my COVID blessings?
1.The biggest blessing by far was me being able to spend uninterrupted quality time with my family, my parents and my dog PJ!
2. I have made some incredible new friends and have strengthened other friendships.
3. I had the time to get certified as a WBE (Women’s Business Enterprise).
4. I had time to really work on my business.
5. I started The Gingerpreneur, an idea I had two+ years ago but never had the time to do anything with it.
Yes, COVID has been awful on so many fronts for me, my family and my business, BUT I choose to look on the bright side and view it as a blessing! I was granted this time to spend quality time with my family and to accomplish so many goals that I had for myself. 2020 was definitely a tough year and I know going into 2021 that it will be much better, but without the obstacles I was faced with this year I would not be the better wife, mother, daughter, friend and business owner that I am today!
